Why Do We Vote Against our Own Interests?


The State of the Nation address by Barack the New now has commentators nationwide interpreting his speech and whether it signals a loss for his national healthcare program.

But this article looks at why Americans choose to vote against what simply has to be a better deal for them, especially when they are less affluent. It also discusses the power of 'story' over fact and how Mr Obama may have misread the electorate, assigning them with excess intellect. Put another way, he didn't B____t them the way they were used to.
