Raw Food and Diabetes denounced by Diabetes Australia

What a strange world!

I sit here with a stack of DVD's showing people completely healed from diabetes Type 1 and 2 after 30 days on a raw diet, and then I see this from Diabetes Australia.

And while we're on the subject, I'm told the managing director of McDonalds Australia is now on the board of Diabetics Australia. Why am I not surprised?

Gingko and Dementia

Sorry to say, Gingko has now been proven NOT to slow dementia. A report in JAMA on 3069 people aged 75+, half of whom took Gingko twice daily, and the other half a placebo Over 6+years, 523 contracted dementia, 246 on the placebo, 277 on the Gingko.

One other point about Gingko. Dr gerry Brady tells me that it's not a great idea to be run over by a bus if you are on Gingko. Surgeons have real problems staunching blood flow with Gingko users.

New Book by Mary Enig and Sally Fallon

When Cassie and I wrote 'The Untold Truth About Coconut Oil', one of our mainstay research sources was the redoubtable Dr Mary Enig, author of 'Know Your Fats'. She is one of two women I really respect in health matters because of their astounding research.

The other is Sally Fallon, President of the Weston A. Price Foundation.

Now they have cooperated to produce a book that I think is an absolute read for anyone not yet really conversant with the cooking oils and trans fats debate. Frankly, although I know and appreciate how hard it is for people to find the time to research health matters, I believe this issue is one everyone needs to read. Why? Because I believe that trans fats are killing us by the millions, that's why!

There. Now I've said it. Here's more information about it, and you can get it by clicking below.

The Lady who performed her own C-section.

Amazing!

And another great video for those of us who didn't 'invest' in a Louis Vuitton this Christmas!

A Video all about what is really important.

A Belated Happy Christmas to all of my readers!

It's Christmas Eve and I'm
still sitting on the dratted computer.. but... this is a task I have great joy in performing.

It's time to personally thank you, my reader, as you read this Blog. It's been inspiring to watch the realtime widget (on your right) fill with red dots. Some days it looks like USA's been taken over by Reds. On other days it's Europe's turn to shine. But every time I look there are more, and more, and more readers.

So at this auspicious time my wish to my readers is that you all have a happy, relatively prosperous, and most of all, a new year interspersed with regular and profound moments of peace.

We are confronted with amazing challenges this coming year and the lessons we have all imbibed in the form of empathy, compassion and strength will be (at last) more important than fiscal skills, acquisition or aggression to your neighbour on the freeway at 8:45am on a weekday. This is our big, big year to get it right once and for all!

Let's face it. We are a competitive species. So now we can compete to
give rather than take, us one thing the Wall St debacle has shown us is that Gordon Gecko had it dead wrong. It just took all those years to prove he was wrong.

Happy Christmas.

Easy on the Bangers and Slabs of Flesh over Christmas, girls!

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reports that an Aussie study (probably taken around the Barbie) links high intake of meat to ovarian cancer.Women who ate the most meat and fat were 250% more likely to have ovarian cancer. Unfortunately, if you also ate lots of fruit and vegetables (and still scoffed too many bangers) the likelihood remained high.

How much is enough?

By now most of us are inured to the sight of long articles and multiple websites pointing out the inadequacies, perceived and real, of allopathic ('normal' medicine) treatments.

This is both good - and bad. It's good because it is testament to a healthy scepticism along with the power to probe the meanings behind the hype we hear in the advertising some drug companies foist upon us. It's bad because healthy scepticism, when taken too far, can 'inhabit us' - meaning we turn our backs on some pretty amazing advances just us we want to be right - or righteous.

Here at ION LIFE we've been subject to rapacious and apparently scientific scrutiny from one competitive company over the years and I'm guessing that without the sustained negative campaign this company waged against us, there would be thousands more people in Australia enjoying the health benefits of our ION LIFE water. But on the other hand, perhaps we are all the stronger because we did investigate fully every claim thrown at us and we can still hold our heads high and look our customers in the eye.

So when I read the report in the Australian newspaper about rates of side effects from the cervical cancer vaccine, I decided that it was time to lay to rest any fears I may have had about yet another unproven new cancer modality.

The Australian reported a study in the British Medical Journal that checked 380,000 doses given in 2007 to young girls in South Australia and Victoria. Of those, 35 girls experienced a 'suspected' reaction. Of these, 25 thought it important enough to agree to further testing. Of these THREE had probable allergic hypersensitivity to the vaccine.

Now let's compare this with what is already known about allergic reactions and vaccines. Another study showed that if we were to inject 80% of all girls in the US who were eligible for the cervical cancer vaccine with saline rather than the real thing, we'd still get 3 per 100,000 needing emergency hospital care for asthmatic or allergic reactions.

So 25 allergic reactions out of 380,000 vaccinations seems a very, very small 'price' to pay for cervical cancer protection for a whole generation of kids. Especially when (if my maths are correct) we'd get three times the reaction from a pure saline placebo!

What do you think?

Can the Mediterranean Diet help prevent Prostate Cancer?

A recent review on environmental factors in human prostate cancer also found that there were protective effects of vitamin E, pulses, soy foods and high plasma 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D levels.

The Mediterranean diet is abundant in foods that may protect against prostate cancer and is associated with longevity and reduced cardiovascular and cancer mortality. Compared with many Western countries Greece has lower prostate cancer mortality and Greek migrant men in Australia have retained their low risk for prostate cancer.

Consumption of a traditional Mediterranean diet, rich in bioactive nutrients, may confer protection to Greek migrant men, and this dietary pattern offers a palatable alternative for prevention of this disease.

Now there's some good news! I LOVE the Mediterranean diet!

Here's the science.

Ionized Wine???

New Scientist reports on a process invented in China to make good wine from rotgut. And guess what they use? They ionize it, just like we do with the Ion Life water alkalizer!
More here.

Fluoride, Fluoride, Fluoride!

It's certainly in the news lately, especially in Queensland.

Fluoride in Brisbane has created Google searches by the thousands as people scramble for a way to avoid the dreaded chemical in their family's water. We are just putting the finishing touches to a special 'infosite' about fluoride, but in the meantime, if you have any sort odf water filter you can now get a fluoride reduction cartridge for us. It will go inline before your ordinary filter. To learn more, click here.

Alkaline CookBook

I recently downloaded Dr Annie Guillet's Alkaline Cookbook in .pdf form.

Her compilation is a herculean effort because to create a book of alkaline - only recipes means your reputation is on the line for every single recipe. The book isn't just BIG; it's also a beautiful production packed with amazing mouth-watering pics, an
d I'm sending off for the hard copy now I've seen the downloaded one.

Dr Annie is a Melbourne natural therapist who has really created something that she should be very proud of. Now you can read about it and order it here.

A Great Juicer for sale

My dear sister-in-law, Gina, has had a Twin Health double auger juicer for the last 3 years.

For those of you who haven't seen a 'Twin Health' juicer, I can say it turned the juicing scene on its head with its fabulous ease of use, robust construction and juicing efficiency.

She's now buying a new Angel juicer which is even better, but far more expensive, so she wants to sell her Twin Health. At $500 it's a great deal. Her email is 22.gina at gmail.com (hacker proof email)

Here's a review site for the Twin Health Juicer.

Alkalizing Fruit and Vegetables: and the untold Truth About fruit and Fruit Juice

Along with this article on the alkalizing effect of fruit and vegetables, I also received another one in the 'Australian' two weeks ago.

The first article confirms what we have known for quite some time; that reversing the 80/20 rule from acid (80) and alkaline (20) we are far better off healthwise to eat 80% alkaline-producing foods and beverages.

The second print article exposes the role of fructose in obesity. The headline is 'Sweet and Deadly For the Waistline' and it's written by David Gillespie, author of Sweet Poison: Why Sugar Makes Us Fat.

David's own research began when as a corporate lawyer he found himself 40kg overweight. He agrees that we are 'ill-equipped to deal with the relatively large amounts of sugar we ingest as a matter of course as part of our SAD (Sad/Standard Australian/American Diet)

Nothing new so far, but David continues, describing research that shows we have one primary appetite control centre in our brain called the hypothalamus, which reacts to four major appetite hormones.

Three of these hormones tell us when we have stuffed ourselves. One of those three also temporarily inhibits the effect of the other three, and also makes 'menu suggestions' given our state of satiety.

Now remember what we were talking about at the beginning? Fruit and vegetables. But here's the problem. Fructose, found in almost all fruit, cannot stimulate the release of these 'satiety' hormones. What does that mean? It means that you can eat heaps of fruit, thinking you are a good little healthy diner, and you won't be told 'ENOUGH!' by these hormones. Further, the fructose - all of it - will be converted directly to FAT.

Summarizing, fructose is a one way street to Fat City.

Given that we now eat (on average) 38kg of sugar in some form per year, (19kg of fructose), it's no surpise that we are now seeing amazing increases in once-rare diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardio vascular ailments.

What to do?

Well, it ain't easy, because food manufacturers are very adept at creating labels like' 'Low Sugar' or 'Sugar free'. What they neglect to inform us about is the fructose content. Sugar? Noooo.. It's fructose, not sugar!

If you drink one glass of apple juice, you have probably ingest fructose equal to six apples. Drink that one glass per day and you'll add 2.5kg to your avoirdupois.

My solutuion is simple. Less fruit, more vegetables. Green vegetables. Green, ALKALIZING vegetables.

A Very Worthwhile Article from Walter Last, Water Alkalizer user and experimenter

Walter Last has published many books on alternative and natural health. Here's the link to this, his latest article, titled 'Modern medicine'. (Walter began using alkaline water many years ago).

Are We Really Programmed to Consume?

My son Neil directed us to this site. He came in very excited, talking about a 'Pursuit of Happiness' program he ha watched.

He followed up by describing a nephew of Sigmund Freud who had basically brainwashed America with the government's endorsement. Being skeptical of conspiracy theories, I was a little slow in following hios advice to watch the program. But when i watched it and saw the effect Edward bernais had on America I was staggered. He singlhandedly converted ordinary citizens from people who only bought when they needed to industry-driven consumers.

Why Some Diabetics are afraid of raw food

Last night was a great night for us. We hired the local theatre and screened “Simply Raw: 30 Days to Reverse Diabetes” This video just blew us away when we saw it, so much so that after watching it at home we immediately decided to share it by hiring the local theatre. It’s one of those rare videos that has you jumping for joy.

We printed brochures, we advertised, we talked about it on our blog, and after all of that the 110 seat theatre held just 42 souls. And please don’t mention breaking even!

And yet, for us, it was a roaring success, due to a large degree to one little boy.

Now you’d think that a movie about curing diabetes naturally would bring diabetics, wouldn’t you? Me too. But it actually seemed to bring raw foodies, and general natural health people – at least that’s the feedback we got from people as they filed into the theatre.

It was only after the show, as people gathered in the foyer, that we discovered young Matt. All of ten years old, he’d come with his parents, and his Dad approached me first.
“Are you hoping to run a 30-Day retreat?”
“Yes, we are.” I answered. “Are you interested?”
“Not me,” said Dad, “Him! Do you have age restrictions?”
I looked at this beautiful kid. He was looking back at me with open, hopeful eyes. “Are you a diabetic too?” I asked.
“Yep” he said, his eyes never leaving mine.
“And would you want to go 30 days on raw food like the film?” I asked.
“Yep.” He answered. No question about it. He knew what he’s seen.

Of course, we have no ‘policy’ about age. Hey, we haven’t even arranged the retreat yet. But I’d love to see young Matt there. He’s Type 1 diabetic; the one the experts say is incapable of producing insulin. Yet we’d just witnessed a young man on the video who got completely off his injections and medications, who stopped peeing at all hours, whose sight stopped deteriorating, and who had, as a result of his 30-day experience, decided on a change of lifestyle to naturopath specialising in raw foods so he could ‘spread the love’. (And only after the retreat did he learn that he was a misdiagnosed Type 1 ‘incurable’). I saw an old, overweight lady completely off insulin return home and begin a local awareness program targeting doctors and health care centres. I saw a elderly Italian American man change before my eyes into someone with light in his eyes and purpose in his life.. all because the proof was incontrovertible. The retreat worked.

So even though there was only one young diabetic we know of attending, it was still such a great night that I awoke this morning still buzzing - because I knew we had something that can change lives right here in the palm of our hands.

So.. there WILL be a 30 day retreat in the new year. There WILL be a chance to attend. It WILL change lives, attitudes and futures.

I also will have copies of the DVD so you can experience the Video yourselves and pass the message on to your friends.

My lesson of the night came from watching a 26-year old man on the video. He was being asked why he didn’t want to make the final jump to no insulin at all. His answer: “Because all my life, every doctor I ever went to told me I’d be on insulin for the rest of my life.” That explained to me why we had so few diabetics responding to our advertising and brochures. They believe that investigating a cure for diabetes, when their doctor has told them it is hopeless, will only bring on new pain and disappointment. So rather than investigate and come along, they stayed home with their insulin.

This morning I talked to Peter, my own doctor. He agreed. People don’t believe they can be healed, and he added that research into anti-diabetes drugs is taking on more and more complex drug research avenues. Just like cancer, just like heart disease, just like just what is happening for about every ‘incurable’ ailment. And yet think about it! Raw food diets heal diabetes!

So if you have a friend with Diabetes type one or two, please tell them to check out my site. If they just sign on to my newsletter I’ll make sure they have access to news as it happens about the video and the 30 day retreat. Why? Because I love the feeling of getting up in the morning knowing I changed the world in my small way yesterday!

For you Aussies.. please let me know if you'd like a local screening and we'll see what we can do in the new year. You can email me at ianATionlife.info

Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days: The Video.

It's all systems GO! We have organised a screening of this amazing video at the Byron Bay Cinema on Monday December 1st at 7pm. if you are within running, crawling or motoring distance, and have any any friends who are diabetic, this can be your very special Christmas Present to your friend.

Bring them along, meet me and the Ion Life team, and enjoy a movie that had me alternately laughing, crying and hooting in joy.

This movie energized me like no movie I've seen in years. Why? Because a simple solution created massive change in ordinary folks' lives by incontrovertibly proving to them that there was a simple, drug-free way out from this insidious disease.

Because it's only a 100-seat cinema, we have to ask you to book to avoid disappointment. You can do that here.

Fat Kids' Arteries. A Big Uh-Oh!

There's depressing news.. like the Congo, Darfur. the environment and the economy. It makes you sit lower in the lounge as the TV 'educates' you, go to bed ealy and wake up feeling like you've been drugged.

Then there's 'Uh Oh' news that gives you a wakeup call that you want to respond to, and are able to deal with and take advantage of.

The following an 'Uh Oh' item.

The neck arteries of obese children and teens look more like those of 45-year-olds, according to research presented at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions 2008.

“There’s a saying that ‘you’re as old as your arteries,’ meaning that the state of your arteries is more important than your actual age in the evolution of heart disease and stroke,” said Geetha Raghuveer, M.D., M.P.H., associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine and cardiologist at Children’s Mercy Hospital. “We found that the state of the arteries in these children is more typical of a 45-year-old than of someone their own age.”

Using ultrasound to measure the thickness of the inner walls of the neck (carotid) arteries that supply blood to the brain, Dr Raguveer's team found our 'Uh Oh' moment.

It seems that increasing carotid artery intima-media thickness (CIMT) indicates the fatty buildup of plaque within arteries feeding the heart muscle and the brain, which of course, can lead to heart attack or stroke. The plumbing is blocking up.

Obviously, we're not designed for oday's environment we have created for ourselves. Some of our responses to that environment are maladaptive. Historically calorie malnutrition was the biggest killer of our ancestors. So we have genes that make us like food, especially fatty sweet food. As a result some kids have vascular systems that are undergoing accelerated aging.

The children’s “vascular age” — the age at which the level of thickening would be normal for their gender and race — was about 30 years older than their actual age, Dr. Raghuveer said.

So where's the 'Uh Oh'? in all that? Here's an item we can work with. A kid isn't so old that he or she isn't damaged beyond repair. A kid is adaptive. A kid wants to be accepted and will follow behaviour that rewards him with love and approval. A kid CAN be weaned off junkfood and bad physical habits.

Yes, yes, we've all heard that it's genetic and therefore.. or 'our whole family is obese'.. or 'I can't hurt him; he's such a good kid'.

But can we really hear what Dr Raghuveer is saying? The arteries - the plumbing of the body - are going to wear out THIRTY YEARS before your beautiful kid does! As so many people around the world chanted only last week;
"YES WE CAN!"

Astralagus Study reveals anti-aging effect

I freely admit to great respect for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Not just because it follows the same principles as acid/alkaline in the form of Yin/Yang, but because I've seen for myself many, many people derive great benefit from 'the little Chinese man around the corner' who gave them a mixture of herbs, barks and bits of wood to boil up and drink. And all this after they received no assistance from Allopathic sources.

I am in awe of the great job Fusion Health, a company begun right here in Byron Bay has done in creating TCM support formulae and going the extra mile to source safe and dependable suppliers so that their remedies can meet the stringent requirements of the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration.

So it's not surprising when I see this report on the effectiveness of Astralagus as an anti-ageing strategy. Astralagus, a commonly recommended for immunity boosting, is a member of the vetch family, and the study has shown that drug derived from Astralagus has had significant effect at the DNA level to slow up telomere degemneration.

Water: The Lubricant of Life

Sue Kira is an old friend of ours for whom I have great respect as a practitioner and a person.

A longtime experienced Naturopath, she has been performing live blood analysis for many years and is a staunch alkaline life advocate, probably because she has seen the results that people have gotten from alkalizing in their live blood analysis.

She is also a fount of information and she writes some seriously competent articles on alternative health. Here's a link to what Sue wrote on alkaline water.

If you are gluten intolerant, and anywhere nearby the southern end of the Gold Coast, I recommend attending her Gluten ad dairy free food preparation class on November 29, from 9:30 to 3:30pm. at Pottsville.

  • Learn how to make delicious Gluten and Dairy Free foods for all the family · Includes breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, drinks, dips and Christmas treats
  • Nutritional advice e.g. where do I get my calcium if I am not having dairy?
  • Alternative food choices to dairy & gluten
  • Feast on the fine foods that are demonstrated
  • Sprouting and dehydrator use
  • Includes printed recipes and information

Many people have made the change to a gluten and dairy free diet because of the benefits to their health such as less bloating, more energy, easier weight control, allergy reduction and to energetically 'FEEL' better. However, many think that a gluten and dairy free lifestyle is too hard to manage, especially when it comes to keeping the kids happy. Sue has the answers. Been there, done that!

Did I hear right?

Can it be true? I just heard that there are 224,000,000 overweight people in the USA.

And then I hear we are fatter in Australia!!!

And yet, and yet, and yet... there is a completely different way of looking at fat. One that may indeed explain why there are so mnay fat people today.

Sepsis: The Reason I don't want to go to hospital!

There are 750,000 cases of sepsis in US hospitals every year. In Germany, 162 people die every day in hospitals of sepsis. If you land in Intensive care, you have a 1 in 2 chance of getting sepsis.

This report adds a lot more, but I'd love some of these experts to take a look at this video from Japan. Please note: The video makes medical claims. We do not make medical or therapeutic claims the use of alkaline ionized water, and recommend that you contact your health professional before any change to your current health regimen. if you agree with all this, then this link will take you to the video.

It's the way you look at things.. even at 100

A friend dropped by yesterday. She's my age or thereabouts and have extremely bad arthritis; she's had it for yours yet she still has the drive and energy to work fulltime at Wild Mountains Trust in the hills behind Brisbane.

Joan was telling us that she visits a 100-year old lady in a nursing home nearby. She heard that she was lonely and wanted someone to talk to, so Joan took on the 'job'. (Non-paying)

The old lady - let's call her Gladys, is legally blind.

Not long into Joan's visits, she began to hear the same sort of complaints about how awful it was to be old, how awful it was to be blind... and one and on. Joan took her on drives, to singalongs, yet the moans kept coming.

We talked about how to manage the repetitive moans from the centenegarian, and as we discussed it, Joan related a lovely story I'd like to share.

Sitting with Gladys at the lunch table, Joan was introduced to another home resident we'll call Ethel. Ethel was also blind, but was a mere 90 years old.

Gladys began moaning about the dessert, saying that she hated the fact that 'they' - the nursing home - always gave her too much to finish, how it was a terrible waste, how awful it was that they were so unthinking. Joan gritted her teeth and said nothing.

Ethel, who was also partaking of the same dessert paused, looked sightlessly towards Gladys, and said "Oh? I think it tastes just
so good! And it's so nice of them to give me as much as I can eat!"

Joan, who had been contemplating telling Gladys that she should be less grumpy because there were others in the home in more frail states then her, paused and thought.

"How can that be? Two old ladies with years of life experience behind them.. yet they have absolutely opposite ways of looking at the world."

She decided to say nothing to Gladys, realising that her approach would probably only entrench Gladys' negativity. Yet we had a wonderful discussion about how to look at life. And we came to the same conclusion we always seem to come to.

There is always a choice. not, perhaps in what actually happens to us, but always, always, in how we choose to see it.

Voting for America

Last week I published a mini-poll for people outside of the USA who wanted a voice in the election tomorrow. I wonder if Americans realise how much we care about the result (speakin' as an Aussie!). My minipoll gave a result overwhelmingly towards Obama, but a reader sent me this link that has done the same thing but on a far, far grander scale.

Take a good mouse-over world tour in the results section. When you see the sort of country that supports each candidate, it's a real eye opener! To whoever did this website, I say thank you and congratulations!

Give Gratitude For Christmas.

Here's a really lovely Christmas gift; giving Gratitude for Christmas. It's a creation of a good friend of mine, Morthern Spears.

If you are getting around to Christmas consciousness, take a look at this. She only printed 2500 copies so one thing's for sure. They'll sell out way before Christmas!

Order and peruse here

Springtime is Detox time

I had a call from Ken this week, the guy who supplies me with VitaKlenz Herbal Anti Parasite formula. He was telling me of an HIV orphanage in Tanzania - 400 kids, all with AIDS. The South African Doctor who supported the orphanage gave all the kids Vitaklenz for the inevitable parasites they have in those countries.

The result was... shall we say.. far more amazing than he ever imagined, leading to a whole series of events that showed the very dark side of drug companies' tactics when there are no rules to stop them. Suffice to say it was NOT because the VitaKlenz didn't work!

Springtime is, according to Traditional Chinese medicine, the best time to detoxify, and I heartily recommend VitaKlenz. We get orders for it from all over the world, even though we have never advertised it in the US, but we continue to receive orders from there simply from word of mouth.

CellPhones in the news.. again!

Mobile phones are in the news AGAIN, this time because the nickel in them is causing rashes on kids' faces. Not surprising, given that kids seem to have them permanently glued to their cheeks.

But now we have a new Finnish study that reinforces the fact that living tissue responds to mobile phone radiation. Science Today reports:
"Earlier studies have shown that mobile phone radiation (radiofrequency modulated electromagnetic fields; RF-EMF) alters protein expression and activity in human endothelial cell line. STUK’s new study is globally unique, b
ecause for the first time it has examined whether a local exposure of human skin to RF-EMF will cause changes in protein expression in living people.

In the study, a small area of forearm’s skin in 10 volunteers was exposed to GSM signal for one hour. After that skin biopsies were collected from exposed and non-exposed areas of skin and all extractable proteins were examined. The analysis of 580 proteins identified 8 proteins that were statistically significantly affected.

”Mobile phone radiation has some biological effect. Even if the changes are small, they still exist”, says Dariusz Leszczynski, Research Professor at STUK.

According to Leszczynski it is much too early to say will these changes induced by the mobile phone radiation have any effect on health."

The last time I mentioned our Talksafe phone radiation protector the email nearly melted down! One lady ordered 12.

As I said last time, I have no idea how well they work, but $30 isn't too much to pay for insurance against a brain tumour!

Football Hero talks about alkaline water

"I feel more 'vascular".

You know, some interviews just TALK TOO MUCH! This guy is em-barassing!
If you have ten minutes to waste, here you go.

Alkaline water for Power

I just KNEW that my alkaline water gave me energy. Now I read here that a Japanese/Indian consortium is progressing with a new form of fuel cell technology that produces hydrogen. And it's based on... you guessed it... electrolysis of alkaline water!

Queenslanders first to drink 'purified poo'

Yes, it's happening. The government is about to supplement Brisbane's dwindling water supply with poo-strained water. Check it out.

So.. what can you do?

Well, the options aren't many. The real problem is two-fold:
(a) The water has to be fluoridated after treatment. The only way you can get rid of fluoride is through an activated alumina prefilter (our water ionizers get rid of a lot, but not all) or Reverse Osmosis.
(b) The pharmaceutical compounds that have passed through the body into the sewerage system can continue through into the water supply. Even before this latest addition of filtered poo-water, pharmaceuticals are already in our water supplies. We and the experts are in the same dark room about the effects of this problem, but there are telling signs, especially in London where the water is recycled up to five times.
There are only two good ways to effectively reduce these in-solution pharmaceuticals; Reverse Osmosis and ozonation. RO reduces it through microscopic filtration, ozonation oxidizes it into harmless mineral salts.

If you'd like to learn more, just key in pharmaceuticals in drinking water into Google.

if you are thinking about a new water system to counter this problem we can assist in two ways:
(a) A water alkalizer with a fluoride-reduction prefilter or
(b) An RO system with attached alkalizing cartridge.

Yet Another Doctor Gets The Message.

Dr. Peter L. Kopko, D.C. has written a good article on alkaline water.

In it he says that the diet we follow today actually creates metabolic acidosis, and that the ‘tax’ on our systems is evidenced in the fact that so many of us have highly acidic urine. He says that most of his patients have a test result of around 5 to 6pH – up to 100 times more acidic than neutral.

I agree completely with Dr Kopko when he says that this is mainly caused by excess eating. On the weekend I read in our national news that we Australians have finally beaten the Americans in obesity. Yes. The tall lean suntanned aussie is no more. He’s FAT.

When we over eat proteins break down into acidic byproducts, massively increasing the load on our kidneys. We get acidic urine because our kidneys are flat out ridding us of the acids before they wreak further internal damage! Some old school medicos still say that tap water is fine for flushing the kidneys but with a pH of around neutral or less, it has no acid-neutralising power.

Further, when we are loaded up, our kidney detoxification (filtering) function is compromised. The enzymes the liver needs for detoxification are highly pH sensitive, and if you are excessively acidic, they cannot perform their function of biological transformation of toxins into water soluble form suitable for elimination.

However if you can give these Phase I and II enzymes the pH they need to work efficiently, detox will happen naturally. The same function is performed by surgeons in operating theatres all over the world every day to alleviate liver malfunction, using bicarbonate of soda. The method, called ‘ion trapping’ is designed to increase urinary elimination of weak acids in alkaline urine. So it makes simple and scientific sense to adopt a daily alkalinizing regime – simply because we already have a daily acidification regime!

Dr Kopko says that drinking alkaline water would greatly enhance these processes. Given the simple fact that we are mainly water, followed by calcium, it makes sense to adopt a regime that affects the majority part of us; water. Dr Kopko finishes his article by discussing the benefits of the microclustering that occurs with an alkaline water ionizer. This effectively reduces the size of the water molecules making the water ‘wetter’ and more effective as a hydrator. Being laden with antioxidant Hydroxyl ions, the water becomes a natural seeker of free radicals in the body, and combined with its excellent hydrative ability, it becomes an incredibly economical way to pursue an anti-ageing program.

Obama Or McCain: tell the Americans what you want!

Five Minutes That Could Change the World

I'm frustrated! very frustrated! I have watched all the debates so far and the one thing that sticks in my mind is that I have nothing I can do about this election, yet it is going to influence MY LIFE for the next eight years!

Why can't I do anything? Because I'm not American!

And when I hear that so many Americans simply aren't going to vote it makes me very, very sad that this country claims to be the home of democracy.

So here's what I'm going to do.

I'm going to send an email to every American in my inbox telling him or her what I think and why he or she must vote for the future - not of USA - but of the world. And it's going to take much less than 5 minutes per email!

I encourage.. no, I implore you to do the same. Spend five minutes and:

1. Write your own request based on who you'd like to see heading the free world for the next eight years.

2. Copy it and send it to your friends along with a link (http://ionlife-healthemail.blogspot.com/2008/10/obama-or-mccain-tell-americans-what-you.html) to this article so they can easily see the seed idea.

3. Ask them to send it on to their friends.

Depending on who you listen to, the result is either a walkover for Obama, or a lineball decision. So just imagine what a million 'foreigners' can achieve with this simple idea.

Conceive, Believe, Achieve... but it is nothing if we don't DO IT.

I thank you. I really do.

Ian Blair Hamilton

PS: let's give our American friends an idea of what we think in the free poll below!

Alkaline Water Exposed

You may have seen the Google link promising dark secrets about alkaline ionized water 'exposed'.

It's been coming from the same guy for the last seven years, and guess what? He sells a water filter that has nothing like the ability of the Jupiter system to alkalize.

I've even seen his 'claims' regurgitated lately in popular alternative health mags. Here's our response page plus a free download of our more comprehensive rebuttal called 'The Untold Truth About Alkaline Water'

Pure Coco Oil?

I couldn't resist this.. I had to buy it just to share it with you. PURE coconut oil, right?
Here's the truth.

The Final Word On Nutrition

After an exhaustive review of the research literature, here's the final word on nutrition and health:

1. Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
2. Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
3. Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
4. Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
5. Germans drink beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
6. The French eat foie-gras, full fat cheese and drink red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us

CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Don't Mention The War!

You know, one does wonder about freedom sometimes. The whole US crisis appears to me to be brought on from the point in history when a smart lawyer was able to make a corporation have the same rights as a human. From that moment on, 'human-corps' (human corpses?) roamed the world feeding on every opportunity it could find with absolutely no natural ethical constraints.

I was reminded of this by a news piece that came in this morning. Nestle corporation (yes, the ones that sell powdered milk to third world mothers
et al) or, more specifically, Nestlé Waters North America is threatening to sue Miami-Dade County in southern Florida if it continues to run a radio ad featuring a talking faucet that promotes the county’s tap water over bottled water.

So let me get it straight. DON'T rock the boat if you want to stay solvent, especially when you stand in the way of the mighty petrodollar. After all, that's what the bottled water industry is about. Selling petroleum based plastic bottles and adding water to the sale as a 'sweetener'!

Your Real Age vs. Your Biological Age

Robyn Backhouse, our wonderful Western Australian distributor, really understood the effects of alkalizing and detox when she underwent an online 'Biological Age' Survey. Robyn said:

"I decided to take the test to show me how ‘old’ I really was. For a 54 year old woman, the results would be very revealing. I was quite delighted when my tests revealed my biological age as being 44 when I was actually 54!! However, I still felt my general health and energy levels had room for improvement. More significantly, I had suffered from bladder problems and urinary tract infections for over 30 years that had been a cause of constant irritation. I never imagined that when I next took the test it would show that my biological age was only 29!"

I'm now 62 and people are surprised to learn my age, thinking I am much younger. I attribute it to my alkalinizing program of the last eight years. I actually have an old photo and Cassie tells me that in the old photo I look older ten years ago.. albeit with a bit more hair!

That's why this article rang bells in my head. We know now that the two supreme alkalinizing methods are water and air. Air, of course, is so often underestimated, but the process of breathing isn't just to get oxygen into the lungs; it's also to break down carbonic acid into CO2 and harmless salts. Yet even though many of us go to gym, walk, or perform other aerobic functions, we've never really looked at the lungs as a way to alkalinize. I've said before that if you want a good example of an 'Alkalarian' you need look no farther than the Dalai Lama, who meditates daily. Meditation, for those who don't know, can also be a wonderful breathing practice.

The article talks about the practice of doctors informing smoking clients of their 'lung age'. From studies, it was found that smokers told their lung age. Now we all know that smoking ios addictive, so we have come to understand that smokers will as like as not, NOT give up. But here's the results:
Of those who were not told their lung age 6.4 percent were no longer smoking, and 13.6 percent of those who knew their lung age had quit. So telling them of their lung age more than doubled their chances of quitting!

In my own case, I carry a dark secret. In my misspent but highly enjoyable youth, I was a hang glider flier, tester and manufacturer.

Part of the manufacturing process was the shaping of PVC battens for the hang glider's sail - with an angle grinder. Being young and invincible, I didn't bother with things like a mouth guard, breathing in lungfuls of carcinogenic PVC dust. Today I am paying for it with a reduced lung capacity, which doesn't seem to improve even though Cassie and I get up at 5:30, meditate, and then attack the Cape Byron Walking Track, a 5k, 400' climb. So I'm testing out an amazing little device called the Powerlung, which is basically a breath control device that puts my lungs through their own isometric workout. I have the breath into it ten breaths, three times a day. But get this: the reason I was attracted to it was a study carried out here in Australia of a group of 59 year old females for just two months. Their lung 'age' reduced from 59 to.. wait for it... 39!

So.. I'll keep you updated on how my performance goes on the Powerlung. The nice thing about it is that it is calibrated, so you will be able to measure your own improvement by your ability to 'push and pull' breath in and out.

Another great article on lung/age effect.

More Great Stories From Alkaline Water Users

Here's a video of some new users of Jupiter Science alkaline water. Very impressive!
As usual, I have to tell you that this video is for educational purposes only, that you should go to your doctor if you are contemplating any change to your health regimen etc etc...

Joe Mercola isn't always right

Even good guys get it wrong sometimes. Dr Joe Mercola has today published a report on detox foot patches, which, in summary, says that most of them don't work.

I'm sure Dr Joe has checked his references and that the patches his source recommends work very well.

But I'm equally sure that our Footsies patches work. Dr Joe speaks about patches' inability to draw heavy metals, yet we actually tested patches from a lady who lived over an old sheep dip, finding arsenic in the used patches. And to take it MUCH further, take a look at the many hair analysis tests that have been undertaken on people using Footsies here.

It seems that every really useful product has its detractors, be they journalists, 'health crusaders' or Big Pharma.
