Why Do We Vote Against our Own Interests?

The State of the Nation address by Barack the New now has commentators nationwide interpreting his speech and whether it signals a loss for his national healthcare program.

But this article looks at why Americans choose to vote against what simply has to be a better deal for them, especially when they are less affluent. It also discusses the power of 'story' over fact and how Mr Obama may have misread the electorate, assigning them with excess intellect. Put another way, he didn't B____t them the way they were used to.

Here's the article.

Ouch! I just learned how I'm coping.

Lumosity is quite an amazing site. You sign on for a free 7-day trial of tests that assess every aspect of your abilities (memoty, spatial, numeric, the lot!) And immediately it rates you with a score compared to all users within 5 years of your age.) And let me tell you, when you are told your memory is better than only 4% of the users in you age group... Ouch!

As good as summary of Acid/Alkaline theory as you'll get.

Dr Greg Emerson came to my notice when a young friend of mine saw him in desperation.

Dinny had serious Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Dr Greg changed her life from frankly, pretty horrible to a brand new outlook (Excuse the metaphor mixing)

Greg is also a fan of Dr Robert O. Young's work, and I personally recommmend him to anyone attempting to manage acid/alkaline health issues.

Here's his web site and discussion.

Cancer cells and AlkaIine Ionized water

Yet another study on the effects of Alkaline ionized water on cancer cells here.

And yes, the news is good.

Liver Damage and Alkaline Ionized Water

..and another study!

This time scientists induced extreme liver damage in rats, including (if you must know) "leukocytes infiltration, hepatocyte necrosis, ballooning degeneration, mitosis, calcification, fibrosis and an increase of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and aminotransferase (AST) activity."
Using alkaline ionized water, the scientists found it "significantly ameliorated the CCl(4)-induced liver lesions, lowered the serum levels of hepatic enzyme markers (ALT and AST) and increased the activities of SOD, catalase, and GSH-Px in liver.

Therefore, the results of this study show that ERW (alkaline ionized water: Ian) can be proposed to protect the liver against CCl(4)-induced oxidative damage in mice, and the hepatoprotective effect might be correlated with its antioxidant and free radical scavenging effect."

Here it is

Hangovers and Alkaline Ionized Water

We've long been told that the Japanese use ionized alkaline water for hangovers.
( Cassie and I tried it out once - a long time ago - but can't seem to remember much about it...)

Now we find a scientific report of rats tested for hangover relief using ionized water, and yes, dear drinkers, the answer is positive.
It DOES work.
Here's the study

Another Piece in the Puzzle

As you know, we've been sharing a journey of knowledge about how to live longer and more vitally by reducing excess acids in our life and in our bodies.

Recently I reviewed the wonderful book 'Building Bone Vitality' which zeroed in on the effect of red meat or protein in tripping our acid switch, causing massive calcium loss from our skeleton.

Today another piece of the puzzle came to light. It appears latest research shows that inflammation in muscles next to the bone actually drags calcium directly from the bone, eating way at the surface of the bone.

When we look at this in relation to obesity, where excess loads on muscles makes an almost ongoing inflammation, we see the double whammy of problems of weight AND problems of decaying the skeleton that is supposed to support that weight. Add in a sugary high protein diet and....

I have heard from many of our clients on ionized water that they have a greater recovery time during gym work if they drink the water. I'd take it further; gym work can also create inflammation, so drinking alkaline water to counter inflammation makes incredibly good sense to me.

Good news week

It's been a great week already for good news in the form of people raving about something they bought from us.
Graham Cotter, long, longtime alkalizer user sent me a note today:

"Boy that sanitizer is one amazing gadget! Washed some mung-bean sprouts and a week later they are as fresh as the day I purchased them. Normally they last a day or two in the fridge before turning into a slimy mess.

Same with herbs and salad vegetables.
Mind you I usually have to wash the stuff twice - gives you some idea of the crap on them.

Gave up on the onions - I'll be back to buying organics when the local market opens next .

The Lotus Sanitizer is something everyone who is concerned about good health should own."

Just Plain Wrong

I am used to people quoting me without permission all over the web. In fact it probably assists our business if they ever link back to me. I saw myself referred to as " a world leader in alkaline philosophy" recently.

Such is cyberspace, where truths and lies blend in the omnipresent digital cloud.

But when people misquote me AND pretend to be an
independent provider of consumer information... well.

There's a site in Australia called www.waterfiltercomparisons.com.au, and to the newcomer it appears to offer helpful information to buyers of water ionizers and water filters. So
far so good. But then when I read it, there seems to be 'facts' about our water ionizer that just aren't correct - and another brand seems a little bit better. If the correct facts were shown plus all the extra operational advantages of the Alkaway Melody, there'd be no contest, but it appears that the website operator has chosen to distort and omit where this particular opposition model doesn't make the cut.

Well, well, well! A
lthough the site owner (as far as I could see) claimed no affiliation with the other water ionizer, when I emailed the webmaster with corrections, guess who the answer came from? The Australian seller of the ionizer that just happened to look better than The Alkaway Melody. Vitality4Life.

Alkaline water at your local Supermarket

A friend dropped in to see me this week. he'd just returned from Japan and was taken on a tour of places using water ionizers. He was amazed to learn that complete chains of supermarkets in Japan have installed dispensers for 5L bottles of alkaline ionised water, and customers use their accumulated loyalty points tokens rather than money to fill their bottles. Our own Alkaway-To-Go dispenses 15L but of course, most japanese are walking home, hence 5L bottles. But what amazed him was that everywhere he saw a dispenser, there was also a queue waiting to fill up!

By the way, it WILL happen in Australia and the world. It just needs people with vision to step up and begin. If you have that vision, click on the link above and contact us through that page!

Water from a magic 'faucet'?

Does a drop of water just drop?

This video will enlighten you about just how a water drop relates to a pond.
Are we 'a mere drop in the ocean of humanity', or do we, like water drops strive to preserve our separation from 'wholeness'. Deep, man, deep.

Ray Kurzweil revisited

As my readers may be aware, I'm a bit of a fan of synthesizer inventor and scientist Ray Kurzweil. he's an avid exponent (and drinker) of alkaline ionized water and right into longevity research.

If you are feeling like getting a bit stretched, here's the text of an interview he gave on consciousness, greenhouse, and happiness. Be aware, he bends minds and concepts.

Give up the cancer Sticks... get Diabetes!

Hmm.. This latest report from Johns Hopkins suggests that if a smoker gives up ciggies, their chance of contracting diabetes goes up by 70%!

This is no small study. It enrolled 10,892 middle-aged adults who did not yet have diabetes from 1987 to 1989. The patients were followed for up to 17 years and data about diabetes status, glucose levels, weight and more were collected at regular intervals.
But.. I wonder.. many of the ex-smokers I know have all developed a real sweet tooth to compensate. Could it be that.. no! of course not. That would be far too obvious! Or not. What do you think?

You're not going to believe this one!

Chris, the designer of our Alkaway To Go automatic refiller for alkaline ionized water, paid us a visit over Christmas and related an amazing tale about a user of our water. It seems in Chris' hometown he has a regular consumer who puts it to an er.. unusual use. You see, his customer is a heroin addict who swears that mainlining (yes, injecting!) alkaline ionized water is the best thing since sliced bread to overcome the 'downer' of his high.

It's strange that when you learn something new, how collaborative facts appear. Brett, our support manager, told me today that his next door neighbour, a male nurse, informed him that the best remedy for a hangover when at work was a saline drip and a shot of pure oxygen.

We've known for some time that the Japanese use our water as a hangover remedy, but .. intravenous??

Happy New Year!

This is the year of revelation. Revealing, that is. So in the interests 0f 'revelation', here's a blast from my past, preserved in cyberspace; and interview of moi, by Rachel Kohn, of the ABC.
