Over the years we have been asked repeatedly whether SIGG bottles are suitable to store alkaline ionised water. Instead of a simple yes, we went to the SIGG Australian representative.. and could never get a clear response.
Although the SIGG looked good, I wondered why we couldn't get an answer. Well, my doubts, it seems, were wellfounded. Here's an article from TreeHugger showing that all SIGG bottles made prior to August 2008 indeed used a water-based epoxy liner which contained BPA. So if you're one of the unfortunates stuck with a SIGG bottle bought before that date, here's an offer for you. Order either our AlkaWay Stainless Steel water bottle in either the 600ml or 0ne litre size and we'll throw in a $20 credit on ALKAWAY products. You can't beat that!
