Wow. This made my day.

As you know by now, we are not allowed to make therapeutic claims about our wonderful water. So when I saw this come in to Karen, our Alkaline Specialist, it was a case of wondering what to do. Well, the story solved the problem. 

These lovely people aren't making claims. They have no idea why the results are happening! here's their story.

"...Karen , We have both benefited and have passed the lessons on to others, one of whom is seriously considering purchasing a machine , we joined there to learn after we had been given a machine by a concerned friend and though I considered it snake oil hooked it up and gave it a shot.

We have both gained far better health over the past 4 months and people are noticing , in fact it is rather hard not to get all evangelical about alkaline water so if someone asks questions we refer them to your site or in the case of two old friends with limited resources we supply them with water.

I have just today spent a day with a friend who owns a couple of pharmacies and he is most interested after seeing how my wife and I have both benefited.Some things are very hard to explain however and I am unsure why they have happened My blood pressure is down to normal for the first time in years also my diabetes readings of a morning are down from 10-11 to 6-7. 

Another thing that is confusing is on the advise of a friend from Hong Kong I have been rinsing my arms with the acid water and all my skin cancers have shrivelled dried and peeled off is this normal or just co incidence ? I am dying to get over to Alkaway and talk to the people there and learn more

Yet Another Doctor Gets The Message.

Dr. Peter L. Kopko, D.C. has written a good article on alkaline water.

In it he says that the diet we follow today actually creates metabolic acidosis, and that the ‘tax’ on our systems is evidenced in the fact that so many of us have highly acidic urine. He says that most of his patients have a test result of around 5 to 6pH – up to 100 times more acidic than neutral.

I agree completely with Dr Kopko when he says that this is mainly caused by excess eating. On the weekend I read in our national news that we Australians have finally beaten the Americans in obesity. Yes. The tall lean suntanned aussie is no more. He’s FAT.

When we over eat proteins break down into acidic byproducts, massively increasing the load on our kidneys. We get acidic urine because our kidneys are flat out ridding us of the acids before they wreak further internal damage! Some old school medicos still say that tap water is fine for flushing the kidneys but with a pH of around neutral or less, it has no acid-neutralising power.

Further, when we are loaded up, our kidney detoxification (filtering) function is compromised. The enzymes the liver needs for detoxification are highly pH sensitive, and if you are excessively acidic, they cannot perform their function of biological transformation of toxins into water soluble form suitable for elimination.

However if you can give these Phase I and II enzymes the pH they need to work efficiently, detox will happen naturally. The same function is performed by surgeons in operating theatres all over the world every day to alleviate liver malfunction, using bicarbonate of soda. The method, called ‘ion trapping’ is designed to increase urinary elimination of weak acids in alkaline urine. So it makes simple and scientific sense to adopt a daily alkalinizing regime – simply because we already have a daily acidification regime!

Dr Kopko says that drinking alkaline water would greatly enhance these processes. Given the simple fact that we are mainly water, followed by calcium, it makes sense to adopt a regime that affects the majority part of us; water. Dr Kopko finishes his article by discussing the benefits of the microclustering that occurs with an alkaline water ionizer. This effectively reduces the size of the water molecules making the water ‘wetter’ and more effective as a hydrator. Being laden with antioxidant Hydroxyl ions, the water becomes a natural seeker of free radicals in the body, and combined with its excellent hydrative ability, it becomes an incredibly economical way to pursue an anti-ageing program.

Household cleaning sprays and air fresheners may well be to blame for the high rates of asthma across Europe and Australia for that matter!.

Use of the sprays on a regular basis increased the risk of developing the disease by between 30 to 50 per cent, a study of 3,500 people in 10 European countries including the UK has found. Even occasional use as little as once a week increased the risk. Air fresheners, furniture sprays and glass cleaners were found to have the strongest effect. Liquid cleaners and polishes had no effect.

The findings come from the European Community Respiratory Health Survey, one of the world's largest studies of lung disease. They are published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

Previous research has shown that professional cleaners have increased rates of asthma but it is the first time that domestic cleaning has also been shown to create a risk.
